Community development

Community development includes the whole development of a community. Often there are problems that have to do with the daily activities. What is so normal for many people is not so normal for local communities in developing countries. Examples are day care for children or Internet facilities.

NABUUR offers many projects about community development. Because of the fact that these projects often have to do with daily activities we do, we can help fast and effective. With the knowledge and experience we have, we can help others to develop the same knowledge about different subjects. This doesn‘t mean that the projects are easy, it is still hard working.

Some examples

To give you a better idea about projects that have to do with community development, we give you some examples of projects, which NABUUR volunteers helped with:

Reaching out to the mentally handicapped
Help to set up a Sports Foundation
Help to write a business plan for a sustainable Internet centre
Help to set up day care for Alimosho‘s children

Possible tasks

In the above examples there were many tasks that the NABUUR volunteers could do. They searched for examples for business plans, rewrote them en somebody else translated it. They searched the internet for organizations that could mean something for them. They looked for information about sending computers towards the villages that needed them (of course with no or low costs). As you can see there are many ways to find the best solution.
