The very beginning of my life story to this very point in time is full of stories about people who saw so much potential in me, they gave me a boost or made a sacrifice to get me to where I am today. Far and beyond that, I have seen despair and learnt that pain and suffering are very real; not just from my experiences for they are nothing compared to other people's experiences and stories they have had to tell each time I paid attention. Knowing all this, having gone through it, and having been touched by other people who without knowing it made me the person that I am today, I can never turn my back to the needs that exist in the world. If I can make a tiny contribution, no matter how insignificant, towards restoring hope even to just one person in dire circumstances, I will take that opportunity and embrace the possibility without hesitation.
