Write a Funding proposal and outline for youth centre

Status: In progress
Step:
3

In order to get equipment from willing donators it is useful to have a outline of the project its goals and a budget estimate. This will help organizations to assess whether the Youth Center is something they can or would help with.

We are seeking help from neighbors who have had experience writing these sorts of proposals. However, we would greatly appreciate anyone how has a good idea to add.

Hi All,

I have had a new contact person for Green Standards in the name of Mr. Alan Cooper who is going to look in to our proposal for help that we need. I understand the Trustees are meeting this month and our project is o their agenda. Lets hope some fruitful come out of this meeting.
I will keep updating you on this progress of this.

Hi Barb,

I have put down an estimated budget operating cost for operation for the 1st year. After the 1st year some of the cost like fixed assest cost will go down.

With regards to the Green Standards, i have not given up on them, i will continue to liase with them and we may be lucky.

As you said we need to expand our search to other organization as we can not put all our eggs in one basket.

Hello Ernest,

This is sad news to hear. I have only dealt with Green Standards in Canada, not the UK. I think that they are undergoing some restructuring, so we will see what happens. We need to expand our search then to other organizations that may be able to donate the necessary equipment, or find alternative ways to get these items.

Hi Barbs,

It look as if Green Standards are not like the way they potray themselves on their website. Its difficult to get through to them and sent emails are not replied.
We will keep looking around and we may strike gold with a group who will be willing to donate towards out cause.

Hi Barbs,

I couldnt get round with the budget but i will definately work on it and send something down by Wednesday. I am looking at breaking it down into 5 categories.

1. Generals
2. Personnel
3. Fixed Assets
4. Running Cost

I will work around this 5 areas.

Hi April,

I think you are right ,Nabuur has put its foot of the pedestal especially to the old vilages that have achieved some form of success.

Achieving success in such an environment is by dint of hardwork and i think with the effort that we are puting in now i am very optimistic that this scheme will be a success.

Once we've done with the our project plan we will be in better position to contact more orgainization for support.

I am planing to visit Ghana may be in December to more assessment work on this scheme. I will be in the position to carry out assessment on the computer lab too to see how we are faring as a village.

The office for the NGO will also be operational by then and this will help us to widen our work and make our village more attractive and purposeful.

Hi Ernest,
Sorry I have taken so long to get back to you I have been quite unwell for the past 2 weeks. All is better now though:). As for your question there are over 50 neighbours signed up to this village. I have emailed everyone a few times but got no response. and unfortunately at the moment any new neigbours will be directed to the target villages.
Unfortunately Nabuur has lost some of its momentum I think, and because oyoko has already had a successful project people are going to be more inclined to direct their skill to new villages that have even less resources than the oyoko community.
as for what we can do about it. To be honest I think Oyoko's best chance is to send the project plan out to everyone we can think of, to try and obtain long term funding for the youth center. Perhaps the next step is to find organisations that are set up to fund places like oyoko.
what do you think?

Hi Barbs,

Is the extra information I provided good enough for the project plan? I tried to cut down the number of staff because as its going to be a new project we will have strong financial backing.

Do the changes that you think required and we can review it again.

Hi April,

Even though we are on course with our project plan for this second project we are not attracting neighbours on our site to contribute towards our work. Can we think of a way or introduction of new things that could help us to attract new neighbours.

This work as i have come to know for the past 2 years is not about numbers of neighbours who come on site to contribute but about commitment of few dedicated neighbours which i found in you and Barbs.

We use to have a lot of neighbours in the past but they don't visit our site anymore or make contribution. I am not sure if we are missing something or our site is not generating the interest require to attract prospective neighbours.

What is your view on this? I know that we have done a lot and you have taken us to another height but its something that concerns me.

Is there anything that i have to do different?
